Have you ever wondered what happened to your old exchangee friends from Brazil?

This summer, Katherine Brasch, Eric Brown, Karl Kannstadter and I sat in a Chinese restaurant and caught up on 13 years of activities and talked about the "good ole days" at Rio Branco, Pinel's, and... you get the picture.

Well, Katherine and I started thinking of even more ways to over-extend ourselves. We have decided to try to set up a database accessible via the Web for the Rotary exchange students who were in District 461 from Summer '83 to Summer '84. This includes the students who were 'oldies' when we got there, as well as 'newies' who arrived in the middle of our stay in São Paulo & vicinity.

Katherine will be putting the information on her web site and updating it as information comes in. I volunteered to get as many updated addresses as possible beforehand, and set up the database for her. Whew! Are we great gals, or what??? (Katherine thinks we're a little crazy too... all that pinga, you know...)

"But Julie," you ask, "what can I do to help???"

As you can imagine, this will only work if you respond - so please do it now!

Enclosed with this letter you will find a simple questionnaire, that should take you 5 minutes max to complete (provided you know your current zip/postal code and don't have to look it up!) You can return this questionnaire a variety of ways:

1. email the information to Julie at jborroum@bellsouth.net

2. fax Katherine at (416) 422-4163

3. entrust this to the postal system and mail back to Julie at the above 'snail-mail' address.

4. Check out the web site (which is what you are doing right now...) and see if Katherine got the questionnaire posted correctly. If so, you can respond directly on the site.

Then check out our web site for everyone's latest contact information - and keep checking. Depending on how little spare time we have to work on this, and the hopefully large influx of responses, it may take a while to post everything.

Finally, if you don't have web access and want an updated mailing list I'll be pleased to send you a copy once I get the non-U.S. addresses. Simply include a SASE (64¢ postage please) and hopefully within a few months I'll have a list worthy of forwarding (I'll wait as long as I can before giving up on stragglers).
